Animal Advocate: It is estimated that 25 of animals that enter into shelters are pure-breeds. Less than half of dogs make it out of the shelters. Less than 25 of cats make it out of shelters. So that means that half of the dogs going into a shelter will die, and 75 of the cats that go into a shelter will die. We have the ability to change that. We have the ability to do something about that through adoption, through spay-and-neutering, and through simply getting involved.
